SHASHAT’S 5TH WOMEN’S FILM FESTIVAL FOCUS ON
JERUSALEM, HISTORY OF CINEMA IN PALESTINE
& WOMEN AND WAR
27 Cities, 26 Participating Organizations, 84 Screening,
34 Films, and 12 Guests
Shashat launches officially its 5th Women’s Film Festival in Palestine, the only annual women’s film festival in the Arab world, on Thursday November 5 at 7 p.m. at Ramallah’s Cultural Palace, with a screening of 2 rare and historical films, one about Jerusalem, and the other from the PLO period in Lebanon.
This highlights the three themes of the festival which are “Jerusalem,” on the occasion of Jerusalem being the Capital of Arab Culture, 2009; “History of Cinema in Palestine” & “Women and War.”
