Chanukah at Alrov Mamilla
Alrov Sderot Mamilla offers a slew of exciting and unique event for the whole family on Chanukah.
Israeli Dove Exhibition:
Hundreds of beautiful doves, from the Association of Dove Lovers in Israel, will be displayed along the Avenue over the week of Chanukah. There will be workshops and explanations about growing and keeping doves, the characteristics of doves, and different types of doves.
The exhibition will be displayed on December 16-18, in the covered part of the Avenue (above Castro).
December 16 and 17: 10:00-21:30
December 18: 9:30-13:00
Entrance is Free!
Dove Send-Off for the Release of Gilad Shalit
The Chanukah events at Alrov Sderot Mamilla will kick off with a dove send-off for the release of Gilad Shalit, in which Mayor Nir Barkat, as well as Arab and Israeli children from Jerusalem schools will participate. Each child will write a personal note with a request that will be attached to a dove.
Wednesday, December 16, 12:00, on the terrace above H. Stern (opposite Jaffa Gate). Open to the public and admission is free.
Chanukah Project Exhibition: Light Exhibition
A light exhibit by the children of Jerusalem will be displayed in the covered section of the avenue during Chanukah. Around forty schools will present about fifty Chanukah-related projects: Chanukiot, dreidels, drawings, and more. The participating public, children, and parents will choose a winning project. The winning school will win prizes! Curator: Tzippi Vital.
December 13-18, Sunday-Thursday 10:00-21:30, Friday 9:30-14:30, Saturday: from an hour after the end of Shabbat - 23:00
*Free parking for the first three hours at the Alrov Mamilla parking lot.
